What In The World Is A MRBF???
MRBF Fuse = Marine Rated Battery Fuse.
Okay, so its marine rated... so what?
Rugged and weather proof.
These fuses are designed to be used in the harshest of conditions. Many people do not realize, but the bilge (below deck part of the boat) is a very harsh enviorment, especially for electronics and electrical components.
With the aggressive vibrations, high level of corrosive salt water, and excessive heat these are not friendly enviornments for electronics to live. So products like these terminal fuses have to be built VERY well - which is why we use them.
What does the "Termianl Fuse" part mean?
Simple - terminal fuse refers to the intended mounting location that these fuses were designed for. These fuses often get mounted directly to the battery terminals of a boat, or in our case, vehicle.
Why do we use them with every switching system kit?
At Blaze Off-Road, our mission is to empower people to wire their own vehicles safely and reliably. Electrical systems can quickly become a fire hazard, especially in the event of an accident. That’s why we design our wiring kits to withstand worst-case scenarios. Every kit is fused directly at the battery, ensuring that if a cable is crushed in a wreck, there’s no unprotected wiring that could spark a fire and make a bad situation even worse.
Long Story Short
MRBF or simply, Terminal Fuses, are a great way to keep your circuits protected, straight from the battery!
