Why do I need billet battery terminals?
There are a few reasons, and they revolve around reliability and ease of wiring accessories.
First, OEM terminals are weak; you will see this when you go to install your Garmin kit or other aftermarket parts. The factory terminals flex a ton due to their cheap construction. This is often fine for stock applications, but when you start adding additional cables, you can overload the terminals very quickly.
Secondly, Connection points. If your factory terminals have any connection points besides the pinch bolt, which you never want to use, its likely only one, which again, you can overload very quickly by the time you add stuff like a switching system, winch, fuse block, and good luck if you need to also add solar and a dual battery.
Long story short, adding billet battery terminals to your rig will give you a way more solid and reliable connection, while also giving you more mounting points.
Do I need Any Special Wiring Tools?
No, you do not need any more than your metric socket and wrench set.
Yes, that's right, we designed these terminals in mm so that you can use the tools you already keep with you on every trail run!
How hard are these terminals to install?
For the vast majority of vehicles, they are a super simple process. You remove the old terminals with a 10mm wrench, then ours go back on with the same 10mm wrench!
A few vehicles, like the 3rd gen Tacoma, will need to install a new ground cable lug. Dont worry, this is also super simple and only requires cutting one wire, and installing the new cable lug onto it that we priovide in that specific kit!
