Building Your Electrical System

We get it, you hate wiring and think that you know nothing about it. We hear this every day. Don't worry, though; that is why we are here.

Wiring does not have to be complex, and our DIY kits are designed to make wiring your rig easier than ever!

Learn more about the typical build process below, and keep coming back as this is a new page for us, and we will continue to build it out!

Battery Terminals

Your factory battery terminals are perfectly fine for running your stock systems and cables, that is what they were designed for afterall. When you start modifying your vehicle though, you will want to replace these with more reliable, robust, and connection point abundant units like the Blaze Off-Road Billet Battery Terminals.

Billet Battery Tie Down

Your battery is heavy, bulky, and is not something that you want coming loose or bouncing around off-road. Unfortunately, your factory battery tie-down is made from thin, stamped steel that is known to corrode, vibrate loose, and fail while off-roading. The last thing you want is that battery bouncing up into your hood and arcing out, causing a fire. So secure your battery with a billet tie-down, and never worry again.

This applies to previous-gen Toyotas and all Ford SuperDuty trucks. The new Gen Toyotas use a bottom clamp battery mount and do not need a tie-down.

Garmin PowerSwitch Kits

Our Garmin PowerSwitch kits are designed to make wiring your rig easy. The kits come with everything needed to install the Garmin PowerSwitch, and do not require any special tooling.

Most kits install in under 30 minutes, with a handful taking less than 10 minutes to install.

No running wires through the firewall, no tapping into factory fuses or harnesses. Simple, stand-alone power for all of your switching and control needs.

Wiring Harnesses

The next step in your build is to plug everything in! This can be done with the harnesses that came with your lights, or it can be done much quicker and easier with our plug-and-play harnesses.

The harnesses that came with your lights are unfortunately not the same quality as your new high-end off-road lights. They are often cheap, Chinese, aluminum wire, PVC-lined harnesses that will need to be cut up, spliced back together, and then installed and connected. This requires special wiring tools and dedicated wiring knowledge.

If you want to make wiring your lights significantly easier, look into our plug-and-play wiring solutions that require zero customization, and no special tools.

Dual Battery Systems

Does everyone need a dual battery system? No, absolutely not. In fact, the vast majority of people DO NOT need a dual battery system.

A second battery is essentially a power insurance policy, there to make sure you can still start your truck in the morning, keeping you from killing your crank battery.

The best way to think about a dual battery kit is simple. How long do you plan to stay parked in one place, drawing power, with no charge input from driving or solar? Also, while you are there, how much power will you be using?
